48 years ago today, the Bath Festival of Blues took place in – wait for it – Bath, England, and the lineup was one that would make any music fan’s mouth water even in 2017.

The brainchild of concert promoter Freddy Bannister and his wife Wendy, the Bath Festival of Blues took place at the Bath Pavilion Recreational Ground on a Saturday, and the buzz was big for the concert, with all 30,000 of its tickets selling out in the first week they were made available.
