July 29^th isn’t the 50^th anniversary of The Doors’ “Light My Fire” hitting the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

Okay, so maybe our attempt at borrowing from the song’s lyrics played out slightly more confusingly than we’d intended, but you get the idea: Saturday is the 50^th anniversary of “Light My Fire” becoming The Doors’ first #1 hit. In celebration of this momentous occasion, Rhino is reissuing the single…or, more specifically, we’re reissuing a limited-edition reproduction of the 7” single that was released in Japan in 1967.

You’ll want to order a copy as quickly as possible, since there are only going to be 7,500 vinyl copies pressed, but if you’re a Doors fan, it’s worth taking the time: the artwork will replicated the artwork of that original single, and the B-side will be the same as it was back in the day. (That’s “The Crystal Ship,” in case you couldn’t recall.)
