Now Available: The Doors, STRANGE DAYS: 50TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the original release of The Doors’ sophomore album, STRANGE DAYS, which first arrived in record stores on September 25, 1967. To commemorate the occasion, Rhino has just reissued the album in a 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, one which has been produced by the album’s original engineer, Bruce Botnick.

You remember STRANGE DAYS, of course: it’s the album that delivered two of the band’s top-40 singles, “People Are Strange” and “Love Me Two Times,” along with such oft-spun songs as “Moonlight Drives,” the title track, and the epic closing number, “When the Music’s Over.”

The 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the album is a 2-CD affair, one which features the original stereo mix of the album – remastered for the first time in 30 years – on Disc 1 and the original mono mix on Disc 2, which has been remastered and, if you can believe it, has never before been made available on CD. In addition, the set includes liner notes by noted rock journalist David Fricke and a variety of rare and previously-unseen photos.
