Now Available: America, 50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION

Even though we’ve reached a point in rock history where there are more than a few bands who’ve been around for multiple decades, it’s still a point of pride – and a reason for recognition – when a band hits their 50th anniversary.

Sound familiar? It should: we opened a post with these same words on Monday.

This is no coincidence, of course. We mentioned at the time that this Friday would find Rhino releasing a new best-of collection...or two collections, really, since we’re releasing a three-CD version as well as a single-CD version...and, well, today’s Friday!

Just to remind you about the differences between these two sets, 50TH ANNIVERARY: THE HITS is the single-disc collection, and it’s filled from top to bottom with all the singles by the band that you’ve heard on the radio over the course of their career. Those songs are all included on 50TH ANNIVERSARY: THE COLLECTION, too, of course, but that particular set also includes some deep cuts and rarities, thereby providing a fuller picture of the band’s five-decade career.
