Now Available: Alvin and the Chipmunks, We’re the Chipmunks

If you don't have kids or aren't around kids for extended periods of time, then you may not be aware that a certain trio of pop culture creatures found their way back onto the small screen this summer, but for those who do fall into the viewer demographic for Nickelodeon's ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks, we've got good news for you: Rhino has just released Alvin and the Chipmunks' first album of all-original material in…a chipmunk's age? Is that a thing? Well, even if it isn't, take our word for it: it's been a long freaking time since the last time they released one, which makes We're the Chipmunks a really big deal…although, again, your mileage will vary heavily if you're not in the right demo.

Now, before we go any farther, let's make note of something very important: at present, We're the Chipmunks is only available digitally. It will be coming out on CD, but not until October 16. We just wanted to make sure we mentioned that, in case you're someone who still prefers to listen to their music in a physical format.

Having mentioned that, let us move onward to note that We're the Chipmunks includes 13 original songs (some featuring those gals The Chipettes) all of which have popped up on the aforementioned Nickelodeon series at some point or other, including the opening track, which - in addition to being the title track of the album - is also the show's theme song. From there, you get…oh, heck, let's just go ahead and offer up the whole track listing:

1. "We're the Chipmunks"
2. "Ooh Girl"
3. "Ring A Ding"
4. "All For You"
5. "Champions"
6. "Mister Manners"
7. "Run The Runway"
8. "Can't Live With 'Em"
9. "Guest Of Honor"
10. "You Gotta Be Cool"
11. "I See You"
12. "Running All Night"
13. "The Weekend"

By the way, fair warning: this is only the beginning of renewed Chipmunk-mania. This holiday season, there's going to be a new movie (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip), and you know that their time-honored Christmas song is going to be brought out for its annual spinning. In order words, you might as well just go ahead and get onboard now.

They're the Chipmunks. And they're coming for you.
