Congratulations to the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees!
Inductees for the 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced this morning including Rhino's own Linda Ronstadt. Aside from Linda, this year's inductees will be Peter Gabriel, Hall and Oates, KISS, Nirvana, and Cat Stevens. Beatles manager Brian Epstein and record producer and manager Andrew Loog Oldham, best known for his work with the Rolling Stones, will also be honored with Ahmet Ertegun Awards. The E Street Band will take home the Award for Musical Excellence.
The 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The 2014 Ceremony will again be open to the public, as it has been for the Induction Ceremonies in Cleveland (2009, 2012) and Los Angeles (2013). This will be the first time that the ceremony will be open to the public in New York.

For decades, Linda Ronstadt was one of rock's most versatile singers. The Arizona native came to Los Angeles as folk- and country-influenced rock was filling the city's clubs, and her band The Stone Poneys soon scored a hit with “Different Drum.” Going solo, Linda displayed a keen eye for talent; one of the bands she used for back-up later grew into the Eagles, and she frequently looked to SoCal singer-songwriters on the rise like Jackson Browne or Warren Zevon for material. By the time of 1974's Heart Like A Wheel, Ronstadt had perfected an appealing mix of new songs and classic country and rock covers; the collection was the first of four platinum-selling albums in a row for the performer. With a voice that was pure, powerful and precise, Linda could tackle virtually any style of music – and did, moving effortlessly from new wave (Mad Love) to Broadway and pop standards (What's New), country (Trio) and Latin (Canciones De Mi Padre) releases. This many changes in direction would cost the average artist most of their fans, but Ronstadt's musical adventures brought her Grammys and millions of album sales.
